I have always admired the dog people who are savvy enough to enjoy a nice lunch outside with their dogs. We have only done as much as Coffee Bean with the Genny before. Although he is 100% sweet at heart, he is not 100% perfect. He likes to growl and tends to try and pounce on dogs he sees. Sometimes he lets his nose take over and he drags me around, like I'm not even there. Some would say he is not the obvious choice when picking a dining partner, but luckily we are not sizests around here! The Gen accompanied Joe and I on a lunch date, and he did so well. =)
Hollywood is Genny's new hood and just down the street is Cheebo, a restaurant where pooches are frequenters. On this Saturday AM there were surprisingly no outdoor eaters! I convinced Joe we could tuck ourselves in the back corner undisturbed, and since there were no dogs or people we would be OK? Right?
He was a good boy, a little hesistant to relax at first. As soon as he sniffed every inch of the lunch area he was satisified and layed down some. They were even awesome enough at Cheebo to hook Genny up with his own silver doggy water bowl. Much props. Heres a look at the pooper in action. Notice how his head is at perfect table cleaning height.
A collection of pictures and stories of a love affair with the poopiest man of all time.

Rain, Rain, Go Away!
It's been crazy wet in LA! Raining cats and poopers all week! It's especially hard for the Genny to get his usual exercise with all this down pour =( . As I mentioned before, the rain takes a toll on us, but hurricane warnings? Oh my! Even worse!
I walked him on Monday afternoon. Joey had the wettest morning walk EVER so there was no way I was going to let him get soaked twice! Genny and I got pretty lucky, as always, just a few sprinkles on us and we had a nice puddle-jumping walk.
One quick confession/story - I tried to copy this dude I saw on TDW (the dog whisperer) and put a sleek little thermal number on the Genny yesterday (not as torture, but to protect him from the torrential hurricane warning weather). He HATED it to say the least. I had to drag the 100 lbs beast across the street, trying to run so he would think we were having fun. Poor guy, he planted his feet SO firmly and gave met the DIRTIEST LOOK I have ever seen! LOL Doggy translation was "TAKE THIS SHIT OFF!"
Oh Genny! He looked so cute, I promise. I had to strip him in the street and practically rip off the dang thermal. A full 10 mins in the rain and we only made it across the street! It really makes me laugh thinking about it... poor guy! Not so much a dresser-upper...

Happy New Year!
My parents hosted a New Years Eve party last week and Genny and I went early on Thursday to help setup. He wasn't invited to the party this time because it was FREEZING outside and we didn't want him becoming a poop-sicle for the new year.
He really loves the trips to my folks' house. Primarily because my mom has huge frozen bones saved for him on hand. But today, there was something even better. My mom prepared a humongous ham that morning for the party. To Genny's delight it became his! The ham ended up a bit over cooked and looked more like beef jerky. My mom removed the jerky portions and forked over the largest bone the Genny has gotten yet! Picture included below... shield your eyes if you are vegetarian.
I told myself that I would only let him eat half, due to his patterns of chucking up stuff like this. I guess he knew what I was thinking, because when I came back about 20 mins later the bone was GONE! I mean a tiny little chunk was left, but that was it! I knew this experience would have some repercussions - the huge smelly kind. Genny and I head home after the ham bone incident and he quickly drifted into a long, deep, ham bone coma. Joe was worried. (I dont have the best record with Genny and food if you recall.) Here's a pic of my sleeping, ham bone coma angel. I think we are both glad the holiday feasts are over!
